EVEN the front-running weasels in the MSM should have known better than to jump on THIS bullshit.
I've been doing criminal practice on one side or the other for over twenty years. I don't claim to be the world's greatest attorney- hell, I don't even claim to be a great attorney, period. But I know when I smell crap, and this case reeks of it. Let me tick off a few highlights:
The guy is interviewed by a bunch of cops in Thailand- so he's interrogated by people for whom ENGLISH is a second language. His ex-wife, brother and father ALL say he was living in ALABAMA at the time of the murder. The closest he ever came to the Ramsey family was when he lived FORTY miles away from their home in Atlanta. He has NO known contacts with ANYBODY in the Ramsey family-aside from the creepy letters he sent to Patsy Ramsey, that is. He is obviously disturbed, has warrants out for his arrest on California child porn charges, has an overlay of pedophilia- meaning he is a reflexive, compulsive LIAR, and is definitely obsessed with the JonBenet case. He wrote a college paper on the murder and was even supposedly working on a book about the matter. He has been sending emails regarding the case, so we know he is computer literate- and had access to the PILES of information and scanned documents on Smoking Gun, Crime Library and other sites. This explains his detailed knowledge of certain aspects of the crime. His bizarre "confession" claims he committed acts during the commission of the crime we KNOW did not occur. AND despite his being under investigation for months, I have yet to hear anything about witnesses, physical evidence or a match involving FIBERS, FINGERPRINTS or DNA.
Other than ALL that, I think they have a great case.
John Mark Karr told reporters in a press conference last night in Thailand he was with the 6-year-old beauty queen when she died nearly 10 years ago. He said the death was accidental, as part of a botched kidnapping effort. When asked how he entered the family’s Boulder home, he declined to comment. But investigators in Thailand have told the Associated Press that Karr has made several other statements to them, including claims that he picked JonBenet up from school the day she was killed and that he drugged her. JonBenet was on Christmas vacation at the time, so school was not in session, and there was no evidence of drugs found in JonBenet’s body during the autopsy. So far, there is no paper trail of Karr being in Colorado. Police in Boulder said today that they have no record of ever having contact with him.

Not to belittle efforts to find the sick SOB perp that should rot in hell for eternity, but maybe this asshat is willing to put up with security/legal problems out the wazoo just to get a free ride back to the USA.
